Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Home

By February 12, 2019September 22nd, 2023Home

Who says you have to go out on Valentine’s Day?  Sometimes the best celebrations start right at home.  If you need a little inspiration for how to treat your Valentine tomorrow night, we have a couple of ideas you can borrow.  Without blowing your budget!

Start with Surprises

This is your chance to really personalize the holiday.  Show your Valentine how well you know him/her!  Whether that’s with a dozen roses, a sweet scavenger hunt, or crossing off those honey-do items you’ve had on your list for a while.  You can even try a combination of all of the above. How about leading your love up to that new light fixture you promised to install, but with rose petals?  Maybe that’s ordinarily not your style, but greeting your Valentine at home with a customized surprise will set the tone for a great night!

What’s for Dinner?

Well you’ve got to eat at some point.  Rather than making last-minute reservations at some fancy restaurant, you can always try something different this year.  Flex your culinary skills by preparing a delicious meal for two in the comfort of your own kitchen.  Or use this opportunity to sample one of those meal-prep services you’ve been dying to try.  You can even leave work early to pick up your sweetheart’s favorite take-out!

Whatever you decide, be sure to dress it up.  Break out the fine china (or dishes) and go for a full table setting.  Any meal you make (or buy) will look better on an adorable table set for two.  Especially if you leave room on it for a dessert display.  You can always go the traditional chocolate route, but we recommend a sort of sampler.  Put a few of your favorites, plus a few of theirs, and take turns trying them all.

Take Time to Talk

This is one part of Valentine’s Day that’s best left for home, anyway.  Our everyday lives can get so hectic, it’s hard to set aside time to really talk.  Use this holiday as an excuse to put your phone away and indulge in a good conversation or two.  A lot of people put a romantic spin on this step by talking about features they truly appreciate in their significant others.   But you can take this in any direction you choose.

Talk about the past, your present, and the future.  Just don’t forget to protect it with the proper coverage.  If you have any questions what types of insurance you have/need after you’re finished, call the experts at Freedom Insurance Agency!
