Before Your Labor Day Bash

By August 28, 2019September 22nd, 2023Home

Maximize your Labor Day weekend by throwing one last summer celebration!  While it’s still warm you can fire up the grill, break in some new pool floaties, and hang out well into the night.  Before you invite everyone over, though, make sure your home is ready for the biggest bash of the season.  To help you prepare for a memorable party, Freedom Insurance Agency is sharing a few last-minute tips.

Break Out the Patriotic Decorations

One more time!  You probably have a few things left over from Memorial Day and July 4ththat you can use to create a patriotic theme for your Labor Day bash.  Instead of packing them away early (and hoping they survive a few seasons in storage) why not break them out now?  Even a hodgepodge of paper lanterns, checkered table clothes, streamers, string lights, and more can look great—if done correctly.  Just try to use items that stick to the red-white-and-blue color palette and place different patterns strategically to separate entertaining areas.

Fix All Your Summer Favorites

When it comes to food, at least.  You might have had plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, and watermelon slices throughout this summer.  But there’s still room for more this Labor Day weekend!  Add a little something extra by buying all your meat and produce locally for fresher flavors.  You can even encourage your guests to customize the menu by bringing their favorites or setting up your own assembly line.

People won’t be able to stop talking about the build-your-own-burger bar you had.  Featuring unique ingredients like fried eggs, avocados, and green tomatoes.  Or a smores setup with different options in the place of graham crackers, decadent chocolates, and extra toppings including caramel syrup, peanut butter cups, and whipped cream!  Of course, it’s your party.  You can do something totally different with your favorite summer food options.

Plan Plenty of Activities to Enjoy at Home

We all love to get outside and explore during summer, so bring that spirit to your Labor Day party! Recreate some of the best summer activities right in your own backyard.  If you love camping, have your guests bring their own tents and set up a little campsite on the lawn.  Featuring a cozy campfire in the middle!  For movie buffs, prop up your projector and create your own drive-in.  Make sure you have comfy cushions and popcorn on-hand to make it more authentic.  Or you could set up a collection of games from cornhole to volleyball to putt putt golf. You can always borrow equipment from your friends and neighbors.  Then, turn it into a tournament of sorts for the more competitive crowds

.Hopefully, you’ve gotten some great ideas for your Labor Day party!  If you have any questions about your homeowners’ insurance before the big weekend, just call the local experts at Freedom Insurance Agency. We’d be happy to help you in any way we can.  Have a fun, safe holiday weekend!
